Peter Greenaway is pursuing his exploration of the link between cinema and painting. The British director will next year project images onto the canvas of Las Meninas, the Velázquez masterpiece held in Madrid's Prado, he told the Spanish media today. Greenaway already has a similar project to his name, in which he projected images on the Night Watch, Rembrandt's masterpiece hanging in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. He recently completed a movie about the painting, its conception and its author, entitled Nightwatching, starring Martin Freeman as Rembrandt.
