The pathos of Britain in 2002

Throughout the 90s, British youth celebrated
drug culture in a way that made the 60s look
like a few sad hippies discovering spliff.

But now the New Wave of Drugs has washed up on
a sad seashore of dodgy dealers and shite coke.

The new drugs craze in the West of England
- Bristol Bath and Swindon particularly - is
"foke", or fake coke.

It has no effect at all, but sad losers are
buying it purely for the "glamour" of chopping
out lines and sniffing them.

Foke costs £5 a gram. Local dealers say they
sell out of supplies every night.
